Top Ten Settings I’d Like To See More Of (Or At All)
Wow! Talk about a hard topic. I’m really a character and plot sort of girl so I don’t really ever consider setting. And as I’m typing this I realize how pathetic that is. But here’s my go at settings I like.
- I’m still obviously into post-apocalyptic settings for sure – I do not think I’ve had enough of dystopian fiction yet.
- Underwater would be cool – I dipped my toes into mermaid fiction last spring and really enjoyed it.
- Historical YA fiction – this is a genre I’m not TOO familiar with but I’d like to be. Any suggestions?
- Futuristic dystopian (completely different from #1 right?)
Ugh, I’m not even going to finish. I feel like all of my answers are generic – one’s that are really popular right now. So I’m looking to you, dear readers, to help me. What settings SHOULD I be reading? Help…please?

There is a book that I immediately thought of when you said YA Historical Fiction, but the name escapes me. I can picture it in my head (the scene, not the cover). Beth Kephart, maybe? Ah, I’ll think of it and come back.
Personally, I can’t get enough books set during WWII – such an emotional time period!

Based on all the settings I put down for my list, I need to read more historical fiction too. I haven’t delved into mermaid fiction yet. I’m a little scared too, lol. But, I’d probably enjoy it. Great list!
